Running Group Shot

Our membership requirements are very simple: A heartbeat and a sunny disposition will usually do it. There is no fee to join and no restrictions other than we try to keep our group as adult-only (18-plus). Our runs are casual, relaxed and usually include some excellent conversations (except on hills).

We tend to run on roads mostly in winter and trails when the weather is nice.
If you are not a trail runner you are in for a treat.
We have some great trails available to us in the area.

On Sunday we meet for our long run.

We usually meets at 8 am and will cover approximately 16 kms.  16K on roads usually is done in an 1 hour 30 minutes.  On trail you would add about 15 – 20 minutes.

We have some wiggle room to have a Variable Paced group (VPs). This group runs a more comfortable pace and covers fewer kms, but is meant to build.  We are currently running between 5 km and 7 km at approximately 6 to 7 min Km pace on roads.

If you feel like you can fit in either group, you are welcome to join us for a run.
We wish to encourage as many local runners as possible to join us.

To find out where we are running it is best to look at the Northumberland Runners Community Chat.
If it looks like a fit please join us.

OF NOTE
There are some great local races that happen and are worth keeping an eye out for.  In the Fall there is the Northumberland Turkey Trot, the Warkworth 8 Miler, and the Batawa Fat Ass.
I like to think of theme as a nice Fall running trilogy.
The YMCA will do a fun Reindeer Run in December.

Cover Our Butts Statement:
As with any exercise program, you should consult your doctor before starting. The Northumberland Runners group or individuals within the group do not take responsibility for an individual’s actions should they choose to run.
